Each painting starts with a ‘cartoon’ – Wightman’s own term for his delicate line-drawing studies – before he slowly collages the canvas with hundreds of hand-cut pieces of textured wallpaper. WebDavid Wightman's prints depict fictional landscapes that are both idealised and impossible; they are inspired by real places but are entirely imaginary.
